Salar Fly Swap 2008

Fly Swap Index

Hello and welcome to the home page of the 2008 Salar mailing list fly swap. This is the third year that the fly swap has a page on the web. This years swap attracted 24 participants from Canada, the United States and the UK. And as is usual with a salar fly swap there are 24 well tied flies and a new bunch of patterns to try out in the coming season. A very hearty well done and thanks to all who participated.

Our Swapmeister, this year, was Keith Piercey. Most of you know Keith, but for those of you who don't, Keith is an avid fly fisher, fly tier and a general jack of all trades. He is involved with the organization SPAWN in Newfoundland and is the associate editor of their magazine SPAWNER. He is also responsible for all the fly photography on these pages.

Keith did an incredible job hosting the swap. He kept us all well updated on the progress and on schedule. I can see by Keith's organizational skills and dedication that SPAWN and all of us have a great asset available. From each and every one of us swappers, a very big thank you Keith.

Without further ado, here are the 24 patterns tied in this year's swap. They are arranged in no particular order. You can visit each pattern page individually by clicking on any of the pictures below. Or you can click on the upper left most fly and then use the navigation buttons on each page to browse through them one after another. Enjoy!!
